| WELCOME Wendy Amos accomplished equine artist . Having won numerous awards for her art . Specializing in Horses ( namely Arabian Horses ) Wildlife & Portraits of people . Talented at capturing the details & spirit of her horse & wildlife subjects. Commissions are accepted if you wish Wendy to capture your horse or pet with her art. Wendy has done many commissions over the years mainly of horses including Arabian horses, Quarter horses, Saddlebreds, Thoroughbred racehorses, and many wildlife portraits of Whitetailed deer ,Elk ,Lions & other wildlife. |

From earliest childhood memories it has always been there.......the passion & desire
to create Art thru my hands, why I was given this gift by God I dont know, but it
has always been with me. The first sketches I can recall making were of horses as a
child of four or five.
Living on an almost 300 acre farm as a child , I was always surrounded by nature
& animals. Horses became my second passion..... as I was always surrounded by
them . From my first pony ( a little paint named wendy also ) to Arabians , Quarter
Horses, Thoroughbreds & Morgans, horses were always there....and I would spend
hours on end during the summers in the woods & fields with them ... studying them &
sketching them as they moved about the pastures . Horses have become such
second nature to me , that I must always have them in my life now.
Other animals always held my fascination too ....deer were rarely seen , and were so
breathtaking when they were , so I began to draw them also & other wildlife. After
my first trip to the zoo as a little girl I was amazed at the sheer size & presence of
some of the animals , such as the lions , bison , & elk and so I began drawing them
also.
Drawing People came last & with age , to my art. People had always been a
challenge to me , as I have never had any formal training outside of grade school art
classes . Certain people over the years have intrigued me to make sketches of
them.... , so now I also do them on occasion as the mood strikes me, or if someone
commissions me to do a work for them.

some joy or pleasure in viewing it.
